Riverside School District Summer Programs 

Listed below is information on our summer programs. If you have any questions about any of the programs, please contact the respective Building Principal.

(NEW)  Kindergarten Math Magic Program.  The program will run two days per week for four hours each day; July 1 - July 29 (not July 4)

Kindergarten students will be invited; The program will give targeted math support. 


(NEW)   Breakfast and Books Program. The program will run four times a week for one hour each day; July 1 - July 29 (not July 4) 

 K-2 students will be invited to the RES library to read with special guests and take books home to continue to read throughout the summer. 


Elementary Extended School Year Program Pre-K - Grade 5. The Pre-K students day will last for 2 hours and students in K-5 will have a 4 hour day. PreK - 5 will be for 5 days per week. July 1-July 29 (not July 4)

The Extended School Year program is for any classified student that has a rationale in their Individual Education Plan that states that significant regression will occur in critical life skills related to academics, communication, independent functioning and self- sufficiency, social/emotional development and/or behavior.    


MD Extended School Year Program Grades 6 - 8. The program will be 4 hours per day and 5 days per week. July 1-July 29 (not July 4)

Elementary Summer School Program July 1-July 29 (not July 4)

Extended School Year for students who need basic skills intervention and targeted remediation.

 

(NEW) RMS 5th to 6th Grade RampED Up Ram Orientation/Enrichment Program; August  15 - 19, 2022; The orientation will run Monday through Friday from 10:00am - 12:00pm.  

Only students transitioning from 5th to 6th grade are eligible for this orientation.

Students will participate in lessons that are guided by the Renaissance Leadership Curriculum.

Support provided on how to use applications such as Genesis.

Will be advancing student's proficiency in Google Apps for Education. 

Will be enhancing executive functioning skills ex. utilization of lockers, organizational techniques, the use of agendas, study skills...


(NEW) RMS Enrichment Program August  22 - 26, 2022; The program will run Monday through Friday from 10:00am - 12:00pm.  

All RMS students are eligible to participate in this week-long enrichment program.

Students will receive target specific support on standards that have been identified as weaknesses on benchmark assessments. The goal is to provide additional support prior to entering the 2022 - 2023 school year in the identified areas.

Enrollment and introduction to technology platforms such as No Red Ink, IXL, iReady, Common Lit will be provided.

Additional leadership activities that focus on social emotional learning using Renaissance Leadership Curriculum will occur.


(NEW)RHS 8th to 9th Grade Ramify Freshman Orientation/Enrichment Program August  15-19, 2022;The orientation will run Monday through Friday from 10:00am - 12:00pm.  

Daily focus of social emotional learning, executive functioning, leadership skills, technology utilization, study skills and social norms. 

Implementation of Naviance and introduction to its uses.

RHS Summer School/Credit Completion- For English, Math, Science, and Social Studies; July 1-July 29 (not July 4)

(Added more to the program than used in past years) 

Students who are assigned for credit completion will be provided targeted Math and ELA tasks to improve skills.  

Students will be taking an accelerated version of the course they did not pass.  These courses will focus on the core concepts and standards needed to be proficient in the subject.
