Superintendent's Corner

I hope that you are as excited as I am to welcome the start of a new school year. Riverside is a special place where our schools are the center of the community. Your children will be greeted on day one with an enthusiasm that is contagious and will provide the platform for an awesome school experience. We have successful schools because we have dedicated educators and a supportive school staff. They are an enthusiastic, kind and caring group of professionals who are eager to guide your children on a 10-month journey filled with support, encouragement and challenge. As a learning community we understand the importance of a strong academic program, but we also recognize the importance of providing robust athletic, co-curricular and fine arts programs that support the development of the whole child. Our goal is to create an environment that allows learners the opportunity to develop their academic, emotional and social capacity in a healthy, safe and nurturing environment. I welcome you to a new school year and thank you for your continued support of our schools.

Good News!

High School Image

In October 2018 the Riverside Township School District applied for a school safety grant through the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders. This grant was limited in scope - for high schools only - in Burlington County, NJ. We have been awarded a total of $977,000 to be used for high school security and safety improvements. We are currently working with our architect, the Riverside Police Department and local vendors to begin making these improvements.

The money will be used for the following:

  • Ballistic film.
  • Additional exterior lighting.
  • New fencing.
  • New main entrance door.
  • Replace, add and upgrade door access system.
  • Replace interior door locks.
  • Exterior signage.
  • Exterior and interior strobe lighting.
  • Replace, add and upgrade cameras.
  • Expand burglar/intrusion alarm.
  • Expand and upgrade two-way communication PA system K-12.

We thank and appreciate the Freeholder's for partnering with the Riverside Township School District in an effort to make our schools a safer place for everyone.
