Burlington County Freeholders Safety Grant

Burlington County Freeholders School Safety Grant

The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders made $20 million dollars available through a grant program for public high schools in Burlington County to invest in making their school buildings safer and more secure. The grant awards were based on a first come first served basis.  In order to be eligible, districts were obligated to use USA Architects for the initial needs assessment. Based on their recommendations, our grant was submitted and we were subsequently rewarded $977,000. The money will be used for the following:

  • Ballistic film.
  • Additional exterior lighting.
  • New fencing.
  • New main entrance door.
  • Replace, add and upgrade door access system.
  • Replace interior door locks.
  • Exterior signage.
  • Exterior and interior strobe lighting.
  • Replace, add and upgrade cameras.
  • Expand burglar/intrusion alarm.
  • Expand and upgrade two-way communication PA system K-12.

We are extremely excited about this award and fully appreciate the Freeholder's interest in supporting safer school environments.
